What is briquettes made out of?
Briquettes are made by the smaller pieces of charcoal (waste produce) which then goes through a crushing process to reduce it to a powder form. This is then added to a mixer in which approximately 10% starch is added as a binder, plus water to make a semi wet mix, that is then fed through a briquette press which compacts the mixture into pillow shaped product, commonly known as briquettes

Can be made of any type of wood soft or hard wood that has gone through a burning process, the best charcoal would be from hard wood as it is more dense and therefore will burn longer.
